Ingredients
- 1 c. each: lentils, dried peas, navy beans
- 1-2 onions
- melted butter
- garlic
- carrots
- celery
- rutabagas
- cabbage
- 1 chicken bullion cube
- beef bone, meat
- tomato paste
Directions

Mix lentils, peas, beans the night before; put into a pot of hot water and cover. Later, drain the water and replace. Next day, drain and rinse the beans.

Add onions and garlic to a pan with melted butter. Cook until soft.

In a big pot, cover beans with new water (approx. 1" above the beans); simmer. Scoop scum off top of water; continue until scum stops coming to the top.

Then add vegetables (chop into small pieces). Add at correct cooking time for each; don’t overcook.

Add bullion cube, beef bone, and any additional meat.

Try beans after 1 hr.; add a squirt of tomato paste.
