Ingredients
- 1 onion, chopped fine, fine, fine
- a couple cloves of garlic
- 2 lbs. meat (either beef or mix of beef, veal, and pork)
- salt and pepper
- parsley
- basil
- 1/4 c. wine or 1/3 c. brandy
- 4-5 cans tomato sauce
- 1 can tomato paste
- 1/2 c. water
- bay leaf
- 1 tsp. sugar
Directions

Slowly cook onions and garlic in olive oil (or butter) until transparent.

Brown meat; add salt and pepper, parsley, and basil. Cook until liquid disappears.

Add wine and lower fire; add tomato sauce, paste, water, bay leaf, and sugar.

Simmer for 1 hr.
