Ingredients

  • 4 c. all-purpose flour
  • heaping tblsp. salt (1 tblsp. if making half the recipe)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 1/2 tsp. baking soda (1 tsp. if making half the recipe)
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 1/4 c. olive oil

Directions

  1. Make a well. Add all ingredients; then add hot (not boiling) water (how much will vary) until dough holds together. Mix with hands. Knead and then cut into 9 pieces; let rest. Cover.

  2. Knead dough again. Then roll into a square, 1/16" thick. Place on griddle. Cook on both sides over a medium heat. Fork dough as it cooks to avoid bubbles.

  3. Can freeze.
