Scalloped Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 2 Tblsp butter softned and divided
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup extra sharp cheddar cheese
  • 3 cups half and half
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground pepper
  • 2 1/2 pounds russet potatoes (about 4 med)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

  2. Butter a 13×9 inch baking dish with 1 tblsp buter

  3. In a small bowlcombine cheeses, set aside

  4. In a 4 qt saucepan combine half and half, salt and pepper

  5. Peel Potatoes and slice 1/16 in thick Add to the saucepan and bring to a simmer. Carefully pour the potatoe mixture into the prepared baking dish

  6. Distribute potatoes evenly in the pan and sprinkle with the cheese.

  7. Dot the top with small pieces of remaining butter

  8. Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown and potatoes are done

  9. Let rest 10-15 min bfr serving
