Buttermilk Cornbread

Cook time: 45 minutes
Serves 10 people

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of buttermilk cornmeal
  • 1/3 cup of self rising flower
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 buttermilk
  • 3 tablespoons of Crisco
  • 1/2 cup of tepid water
  • 1 can of cream style corn (optional)

Directions

  1. Heat Crisco in cast iron skillet

  2. Mix cornmeal and flour in bowl

  3. Mix in egg

  4. Mix in buttermilk

  5. *For more thickness less tepid water

  6. for moisture more tepid water
