Nana’s Polish Sausage and Sauerkraut

Ingredients
- 2 Pkgs Kielbasa
- 2 T Butter
- 3 tsp Sugar
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 3 C sauerkraut, drained
- 6 slices bacon, cooked and drained
- 1 small can of sliced mushrooms, drained
- 1 tsp sage
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp thyme
- 3 T Parsley (garnish)

Cook bacon and save bacon drippings

Butterfly sausage and brown both sides in skillet with bacon drippings.

Put sausage in 400 degree oven 6-10 minutes

In large skillet over medium heat brown sugar and butter. Add onion to carmalize. Stir in sauerkraut. Cook 5-6 minutes. Add garlic, thyme, sage, bacon and mushrooms. Add sausage. Cook 2-4 minutes

Place in slow cooker on low to keep warm
