Beef Stew

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs. stew meat, cubed
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 2 T vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 4 carrots, cut into 1-inch slices
  • 3 potatoes peeled and cut into cubes
  • beef broth
  • 3/4 t thyme

Directions

  1. coat meat w/ flour, brown in oil, put meat in crock-pot

  2. sauté onions, put in cheesecloth bag in crock-pot

  3. add tomatoes and carrots to bag, close bag

  4. add potatoes to crock-pot

  5. add beef broth & thyme, add water to near top (within an inch or two

  6. cook on low or high in crock-pot until meat and vegetables are tender
