Dill Saru

Ingredients

  • masoor dhal (red) 3/4 cup
  • 1/4 of a large yellow onion, chopped
  • chopped dill 1 bunch
  • 1 tomato - medium size
  • sambar or rasam powder - 1tsp
  • tamarind juice - 1 tsp
  • brown sugar - 1/2 tsp
  • ogarne - Rukmini's recipe

Directions

  1. Place masoor dhal and onion in a pot, water to cover.

  2. Bring to a boil, whisk when soft.

  3. Add dill and tomato, fully cook until mushy.

  4. Add sambar or rasam powder, add brown sugar, and last, add ogarne (Rukmini’s recipe)
