Ingredients
- 8-1/3 cups flour
- 2 tsp salt
- oil
- 1 tbsp yeast
- bacon bits, real or soy
- 1 onion
- 1 8-oz container whipping cream
- 1 8-oz container fat-free sour cream
- salt
- pepper
Directions
-
Dissolve yeast in 2 cups lukewarm water.
-
Add salt and two splashes of oil.
-
Mix in flour and knead until dough is well-developed.
-
Let dough rise until double.
-
Prepare sauce by mixing together cream and sour cream, and adding salt and pepper to taste. Place in refrigerator until needed.
-
Cut the onion into very thin rings, and then chop rings in half. Set aside until needed.
-
Punch down dough and divide into several sections.
-
Place each section in a greased cookie sheet and roll out very thinly (supposedly should be thin enough to read a newspaper through).
-
Spread dough with sauce and sprinkle with onions and bacon bits.
-
Bake at 350°F until crust is golden brown.
-
Can be eaten warm or cold.
