Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups (3 sticks) butter or margarine
- 2 cups creamy peanut butter
- 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- Topping:
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 24-ounce package semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions
-
Melt margarine and peanut butter together in a saucepan, stirring often.
-
When melted and smooth, pour into a large mixing bowl. Add the graham cracker crumbs and the powdered sugar.
-
Mix well (it will become very thick). Press into a 9-by-12-inch cake pan. Use another small pan or small cutting board to press down well and make the top even. Let the mixture set in refrigerator until firm.
-
Put the chocolate chips into a large mixing bowl. In a pan, bring the cream just to a boil. Pour over the chocolate chips. Stir until melted. Spread the chocolate mixture over the top of the peanut-butter graham cracker base. Let cool and harden in the refrigerator. Slice into 2-by-3-inch bars. Makes 18 bars.
