High Energy Dried Fruit Bars

Ingredients

  • 4 cups wheat and barley nugget cereal (ex Grape Nuts)
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 cup dried fruits, such as raisins, cranberries, cherries or dried fruit bits
  • 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter

Directions

  1. Lightly spray a 13×9×2 inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray; set aside.

  2. Place cereal and fruit in a large bowl.

  3. In a medium saucepan, mix the honey, brown sugar and peanut butter. Bring to a boil over medium -low heat, stirring occasionally. Pour peanut butter mixture over cereal and fruit mixture, stirring until blended.

  4. With a large square of wax paper press mixture firmly into prepared pan. Cool completely. Cut into 30 bars. Wrap bars individually with plastic wrap. Store in tightly covered containers.
