ICE CREAM WITH WARM FRUIT SAUCE

Ingredients

  • 5 kiwi
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp. butter
  • 1 cup strawberries, stemmed & quartered
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks
  • 4 large scoops vanilla ice cream

Directions

  1. Peel and slice kiwifruitninto 1/4 inch thick slices; reserve.

  2. Combine sugar and water in a skillet and bring to a boil over medium heat.

  3. Boil 3 or 4 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.

  4. Whisk in lemon juiceand butter.

  5. Stir in kiwi,strawberries and pineapple and remove from heat.

  6. Make a pool of sauce and fruit on four dessert plates.

  7. Place a scoop of ice cream in centre of each plate.

  8. Serve immediately.
