Almond Coffee Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup margerine
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup margerine
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup flour
  • powdered sugar frosting

Directions

  1. Mix flour, 1/2 cup margerine and 2 tablespoons water like pie crust.

  2. Shape into 9×12 rectangle on a cookie sheet.

  3. Boil 1 cup water, 1/2 cup margerine, and extract.

  4. After boiling add flour until well mixed.

  5. Add eggs one at a time, mixing quickly and thoroughly between each egg.

  6. Spread over pastry layer.

  7. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

  8. Frost immediately.

  9. Quickly add chopped walnuts if desired.
