Ingredients

• 1 cup sugar
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 1 cup shortening
• 2 eggs, beaten with 1 teaspoon water and 1 teaspoon vanilla
• Pinch of salt
• 3 cups flour (may need a little more)
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon cream of tartar

Directions

1. Beats sugar and shortening.

2. Add egg mixture.

3. Combine.

4. Add dry ingredients.

5. Combine.

6. Place on lightly floured surface.

7. Knead a few minutes.

8. Divide dough in half.

9. Shape each half into logs.

10. Wrap each log and refrigerate.

11. Slice and bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
