Sour Cream Sugar Cookies

  1. scoop=2-2.5 dozen
  2. scoop= 3.5-4 dozen
    FOR MARKET: ice with lemon cream cheese icing.

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 gran. sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 3c. flour
  • 1 t. baking powder
  • scant* 1 t. baking soda
  • 1/4 t. fresh ground nutmeg
  • pinch or so of salt
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 1 t. vanilla

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350*

  2. Mix flour,soda,powder,nutmeg and salt in small bowl.

  3. Cream sugar and butter in mixer bowl. Add 2 eggs and beat until fluffy.

  4. Add flour mixture and sour cream alternately to the creamed butter/sugar mixture. Mix only to combine. blend in vanilla.

  5. Dip cookies on to parchment lined tray. Bake cookies 6 minutes, turn 180* and bake 6 min longer. (edges very slightly brown)

  6. ICED: 2c. 10x sugar

  7. 1 stick soft butter (1/2c.)

  8. Add just enough milk to spreading consistency.

  9. SCANT means less than!
