Creamed Oysters

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup cream or evaporated milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon paprika
  • 1 pint bulk or quick frozen oysters and their liquor
  • 5 to 6 slices buttered toast

Directions

  1. Melt the butter or margarine in a saucepan, blend in the flour, slowly add the milk, stir and simmer until the mixture thickens. Add the cream or evaporated milk, salt, paprika, the oysters and their liquor. Simmer 2 to 3 minutes after the oysters have been added. Serve on the toast.
