Ingredients
- 24 medium sized fresh oysters in the shell
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon minced green pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- ⅛ teaspoon pepper
- 2 to 3 strips bacon
Directions

Wash the oysters and open them carefully so that no juice is lost. Discard the smaller upper shell; leave the oyster in the deeper half. Place in a shallow pan or pie plates. Pour a few drops of lemon juice over each oyster and add a bit of green pepper. Add salt and pepper. Cut the bacon into 1 inch squares, and place 1 on top of each oyster. Set the pans under moderate broiler heat until the bacon is crisp and the oysters plump.
