Swedish Meatballs

(from nikki chanay’s recipe box)

Can use tablespoon if you do not have a melon ball maker.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c soft bread crumbs
  • 1/2 c light sweet cream
  • 1/4 lb ground veal
  • 1/4 lb pork
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp onion juice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 4 twists of a pepper mill
  • 1/2 tsp white sugar
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • 2 tbsp butter for frying

Directions

  1. Soak breadcrumbs in cream.

  2. Mix all meat together very well.

  3. Add onion juice, salt, nutmeg, pepper, & sugar.

  4. Stir melted butter into bread crumbs.

  5. Mix into meat mixture.

  6. Using melon ball maker form the meat into balls.

  7. Place in skillet until brown.
