Oven Cornbread

You can substitute butter with vegetable spread.

Ingredients

  • 1 c flour
  • 1 c cornmeal
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 c milk
  • 1 egg beaten well
  • 1/4 c melted butter

Directions

  1. Sift flour, cornmeal, salt, & baking powder.

  2. Stir in milk. (quantity needed will vary a little. batter should be on the thin side.)

  3. Stir in the well beaten egg.

  4. Beat briskly for a couple minutes.

  5. Stir in the melted butter.

  6. Bake in a moderate to hot oven at 275 to 300 degrees.
