Three Layer Fudge Cake

Ingredients
- 2 c sifted cake flour
- 2 c granulated sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 3/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 c soft shortening (melted)
- 2 squares unsweetened chocolate
- 1 1/2 c milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 medium eggs unbeaten
Directions

Start heating oven to 350 degrees.

In large bowl sift flour with sugar, salt, baking soda, & baking powder.

Drop in shortening.

Pour in chocolate, 3/4 c milk, & vanilla.

With mixer at medium speed beat for 2 min.

Scrape bowl and beaters as needed.

With spoon beat 300 sweeping-around-the-bowl strokes.

Add 1/2 c milk & eggs.

Beat 2 min as before.

Pour in 3- 8 inch pans that have been greased & lined on the bottoms with wax paper.

Bake.

Cool in pans on wire racks then loosen with a spatula.

Remove & let cool.
