Ingredients
- Heaped half cup dried yellow split peas, 1 cup chicken stock, 1/2 tsp turmeric, 1 cinnamon stick, 1 tsp cumin, 2bay leaves, pinch cayenne, 1/2 onion chopped, ground ginger, salt, 2 garlic cloves, 1/2 tsp garam masala, some cherry tomatoes, 1 dsp butter, 1
Directions
- Rinse peas in cold water. Place in pan and cover with stock stir and bring to the boil. Skim off froth with a spoon. Reduce heat to simmer, add cinnamon, bay leaf, turmeric, cayenne and ginger and cover. cook for 30 min.

Heat water over medium add cumin, onion, chilli, garam and salt for 5 min. Add garlic and tomatoes and ground coriander and simmer for 10 min. Remove cinnamon and bay leaf from peas. Add mixture to peas stir and let cook for 2 min before seasoning and serving.
