Swedish glogg

Ingredients

  • 2 litter bottle of burgundy
  • 2 litter bottle of port
  • 750 ml of brandy
  • 2 cups sugar
  • Water
  • Cheesecloth
  • 25 cloves 20 cardamon seeds ( not the pods )
  • 2-3 cinnamon sticks ( broken )
  • 1 orange peel ( dried if possible )

Directions

  1. Place sugar and enough water to cover the sugar in the bottom of a deep pan.

  2. Place all the spices in cheesecloth and secure.

  3. Bring to a boil then simmer for 20’.

  4. Add wines and brandy, cover tightly, simmer for about 15-20’.

  5. Let sit overnight.

  6. Stain and return to bottles.

  7. Serve warm.

  8. While making, season to taste.
