Ingredients
- 2 litter bottle of burgundy
- 2 litter bottle of port
- 750 ml of brandy
- 2 cups sugar
- Water
- Cheesecloth
- 25 cloves 20 cardamon seeds ( not the pods )
- 2-3 cinnamon sticks ( broken )
- 1 orange peel ( dried if possible )
Directions

Place sugar and enough water to cover the sugar in the bottom of a deep pan.

Place all the spices in cheesecloth and secure.

Bring to a boil then simmer for 20’.

Add wines and brandy, cover tightly, simmer for about 15-20’.

Let sit overnight.

Stain and return to bottles.

Serve warm.

While making, season to taste.
