Fresh Pear Pie

Ingredients

  • 9 inch double crust pie (recipe or box)
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3 Tbs. Flour
  • 1/4 tsp. Salt
  • 1 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. Lemon Zest
  • 1 Tbs. Lemon Juice
  • 5 c. peeled and sliced pears
  • 1 Tbs. Butter
  • Ice Cream

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

  2. Combine sugar, flour, salt, cinnamon, and lemon zest in bowl.

  3. Arrage pears in layers in a 9 in pastry lined pan, sprinkle sugar over each layer. Dot with butter. Sprinkle with lemon juice.

  4. Roll out remaining dough; cut slitls to let steam escape.

  5. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 min. Reduce to 350 degrees and bake for 35-40 min.

  6. Serve with ice cream.
