Apples Delight

Ingredients

  • 6 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and each cut into 8 slices
  • 1 lemon, cut into thin slices
  • 2 cups red wine
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • Vanilla ice cream

Directions

  1. Place the apple slices in the slow cooker

  2. Top with the lemon slices

  3. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, mix the wine, cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar, and brown sugar until well blended

  4. Slowly pour the mixture over the apple and lemon slices, making sure that the apples are well coated

  5. Cover and cook on high for 2 to 3 hours

  6. Remove from slow cooker and allow to cool slightly

  7. Spoon the apples into individual serving bowls and top with vanilla ice cream

  8. Makes 8-12 servings
