French Toast

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4–6 thick slices of bread
  • 1–2 TB butter
  • nutmeg
  • toppings (maple syrup, butter, jam, fresh/canned/frozen fruit, etc.)

Directions

  1. Whisk together milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and nutmeg in a shallow bowl.

  2. Dip in slices of bread, turning and waiting a few seconds to let the bread absorb the egg/milk mixture.

  3. Heat butter in a saute pan over medium heat and brown slices on each side until golden.

  4. Serve immediately with toppings of choice.
