Ingredients
- 1/1/2 pounds apples
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 2 TBSP lemon juice
- 1/4 cup sugar
- TOPPInG:
- 3/4 c. flour
- 3/4 light brown sugar - packed
- 1/2 tsp gound cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 c. oatmeal
- 1/2 cup chilled, unsalted butter, cut into small chunks
Directions

Oven 375

LIghtly butter an 8 inch square baking pan.

Peel, core, and thinly slice apples

Combine with the zest, juice and sugar

Pour mixture into the pan.

TOPPING:

Combine all topping ingredients in the the bowl of an electric mixer.

With the mixer on low speed, mix until crumbly and the butter is about the size of peas.

Scatter evenly over the apples

Baker for about 40 minutes or until the top is brown and the apples are bubbly.
