Chess Pie

Ingredients

  • 3 large eggs
  • 1.5 cups of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 8 inch unbaked pie shell

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to to 350 degrees.

  2. Break eggs into mixing bowl.

  3. Beat lightly with fork.

  4. Add sugar and vinegar and stir to mix well.

  5. Add melted (cooled) butter and pure vanilla extract.

  6. Stir to mix well

  7. Turn into unbaked 8 inch pie shell.

  8. Bake 50-60 minutes.

  9. Place on cooling rack.

  10. Note — This recipe is worked out with glass heat-resistant pie plate. Some cooks prefer this pie wit 1/8 teaspoon salt.
