Ingredients
- 1 frying chicken
- OR
- 2 pounds chicken tenders or breast pieces, cut in strips
- 1 can canned milk
- flour
- Any of the following seasonings: salt, pepper, paprika, poultry seasoning, cajun seasoning, lemon pepper, etc. (see directions)
- Oil for frying
Directions
-
Wash, cut, chicken pieces.
-
Saok in canned milk in refrigerator for 1 hour.
-
Combine flour and any other spices desired. (I prefer to use just salt and I will sprinkle directly on my chicken.)
-
Remove chicken pieces to cookie sheet with sides…this is when I salt…or you can add pepper and other seasonings now.
-
Roll in flour. Fry in hot oil until golden brown…make sure whole chicken pieces are done through to the bone.
-
GRAVY: Drain all but about 1/3 cup oil from skillet, trying to save as much of the brown crumbs as possible. Add about 1/3 cup flour, salt and pepper. Combine with oil. Add milk until skillet is about 2/3 full. Bring to a slow boil, whisking to prevent lumps. Simmer until thick.
