Never Fail Frosting (A 7-Minute Frosting)

This is a different version of my other seven minute frosting.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 5 tablespoons cold water
- 1 1/2 teaspoons light corn syrup
- 2 egg whites (unbeaten)
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions

Place all ingredients except vanilla over boiling water of a double boiler.

Beat with electric mixer on medium speed until blended.

Then cook, beating constantly on high speed until mixture stands in peaks.

Remove from heat.

Add 1 teaspoon vanilla.

Continue beating until spreading consistency.

Spread on cake layers.
