Date Loaf Candy

This is a recipe that my mother made very well. I have trouble with it coming out right.
Store in old fashioned tin container.

Ingredients
- 3 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup white Karo
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/2 pound pitted dates chopped
- 2 cups pecans chopped
Directions

Combine sugar, water and Karo and cook for about 15 minutes or until forms soft ball in cup of cold water.

Add dates after first 10 minutes.

Add pecans when soft ball is reached.

Beat with wooden spoon until creamy.

Wet a large linen dish towel and pour onto it and roll in a long stick.

Hang to set, cool.

Remove dish towel, slice. Candies should be about the size of a silver dollar.
