Camp Cornbread

Goes great with your camping recipes for chili, beans or any other meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 package cornbread mix
  • 8x8 inch foil pan
  • ingredients as listed on package
  • 1 small jar jalapeno slices (optional)

Directions

  1. Pre-heat your dutch oven over coals.

  2. Mix cornbread according to package directions. (Optional chopped jalapenos can be added at this time if you like your cornbread spicy.)

  3. Pour into a 8×8 inch disposable foil pan.

  4. Make 3 to 4 small balls of foil and flatten out slightly. Place these evenly over the bottom of the empty dutch oven. These will be the “legs” for your pie pan.

  5. Place pan with cornbread mix down into your dutch oven on your foil legs.

  6. Cover and cook about 20 to 30 minutes until done.
