Ingredients
- 6 slices bacon
- 2 large onions chopped
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 11 ounce cans dry lima beans drained (these might be referred to as large butter beans(
- 1 11 ounce can green lima beans drained
- 1 11 ounce can red kidney beans drained
- 1 15 ounce jar baked beans
Directions
-
TIP: The sizes of cans have changed…just get close, if slightly larger can even better. I can not find the jarred beans in my area anymore so I just use a good brand of baked beans in a can, something with some brown sugar sweetness to it.
-
Fry bacon until crisp. Crumble and set aside. Save bacon grease.
-
Add to bacon grease onion, garlic, brown sugar, dry mustard, cider vinegar and cook slowly for 30 minutes.
-
Combine all cans of beans in a 3 quart baking dish or bean pot.
-
Add crumbled up bacon and cooked onion mixture. Combine well.
-
Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.
