Fried Pie Crust

The perfect crust for making fried pies.

Ingredients
- 4 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 cup cold milk
Directions

Mix together flour and salt.

Cut in shortening until mixture is crumbly.

Slowly add milk and stir until dough forms a ball.

Roll out dough and cut into 18, 6-inch circles.

Fill circles with your choice of fruit fillings. (You can make your own fillings using the “Kolaches – Fillings” recipes in this book.)

Moisten outer edges of dough with water and seal closed with the tines of a fork.

Slide into a pan of hot grease…fry until golden.

Remove to cookie sheet lined with brown paper or paper towels, sprinkle with sugar or make a glaze of powdered sugar and milk.
