(from cokerlj’s recipe box)
I never bake a ham…way too dry and salty. This is so easy and very moist!

Ingredients
- 1 large picnic ham
- water
Directions
-
Remove all wrapping and wash ham.
-
Place into a very large stock pot.
-
Fill with water about 2/3 way up on the ham.
-
Bring to boil, turn heat down and simmer for 1 1/2 hour. Keeping water at a constant level.
-
Using a couple of large forks, flip ham over in the pot. (You might need to get your husband to help and be careful not to splash yourself with the hot water.)
-
Bring water level back up and simmer for another 1 1/2 hours.
-
Remove from water. Let stand for 15 minutes and slice to serve.
-
If you wish…you can make your favorite glaze and glaze your ham…Score the top skin of the ham in a “diamond” pattern, drizzle or brush with your favorite glaze. Place in the oven just long enough for glaze to set and brown.
