Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds pork shoulder, beef roast, or stewing lamb
- 2 onions
- salt and pepper
- 1 teaspoon of allspice

Cut 1 1/2 pounds pork shoulder, beef roast, or stewing lamb into generous cubes and coarsely chop 2 onions.

Layer meat and onions in a large roasting pan, seasoning each layer with salt and pepper. Add a teaspoon of allspice and water to nearly cover. Bake uncovered for three hours at 350 degrees, making sure water level does not get too low. Cover near the end of cooking time if needed.

Serve with boiled potatoes, boiled turnips, grated carrots, and lignonberry sauce.
