Ingredients
- 2-3/4 c. sifted flour
- 1/4 t. salt
- 3/4 t. cinnamon
- 1/4 t. allspice
- 1/4 t. anise
- Dash ginger
- Dash cloves
- 3/4 c. lard
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/4 c white port wine or orange juice
Directions

Sift flour, salt, and spices. Cream lard and sugar until very fluffy. Add wine/juice to creamed mixture slowly and stir until well blended.

Add flour and spice mixture a little at a time and blend well.

Roll dough out to less than 1/4 inch using a floured rolling pin and a lightly floured board. Use small cookie cutters (not over 1-1/2") to cut or simply cut the rolled dought into small diamond shapes using a very sharp knife.

Bake 8 to 10 minutes in a 400° F. oven.

Dip cookies while still hot in a mixture of 2 T. cinnamon to 1 c. sugar. Makes 4 to 5 dozen.
