Ingredients
- 1 - 1 1/2 pound ground lean hamburger
- 1/2 onion diced
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 1 stalk celery diced
- 1/4 green bell pepper diced (very optional)
- 1 heaping tablespoon chili powder
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 1 small can V-8 juice
- 1 heaping teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 cups small elbow macaroni
- Sometimes I like to add a can of corn drained.
Directions
-
NOTE: Amounts are approximate as this is something I just “throw” together.
-
Cook elbow macaroni in boiling salted water according to package directions.
-
In the mean time…brown ground beef in a large skillet adding rest of ingredients as you brown.
-
Simmer while macaroni continues to cook.
-
Drain and lightly rinse macaroni when done.
-
Stir into meat and tomato mixture.
-
Serve with some parmesan cheese to sprinkle on top.
