Soft ginger cookies

These stay soft , not like ginger snaps, more like snicker doodles

Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 cups flour
  • 4 tsp ginger
  • 1 tsp cloves
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups shortening ( butter)
  • 1/2 cups molasses
  • 2 eggs

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350

  2. Mix dry ingredients in larger bowl.

  3. Mix butter,sugar,and eggs one at a time. Add molasses using a mixer.

  4. Mix wet ingredients into the dry.

  5. Roll into balls,roll in sugar. Bake on cookie sheet spacing about 2 inches apart. Take out at about 10-11 min & let sit on cookie sheet for 1-2 min to set. Then remove to a rack to cool completely .
