Goulash
(from butter55fly’s recipe box)
The following is Jen’s recipe. I’ve made it several times now and we all love it. When I make it with 2 lbs of the elbow mac, we usually have enough for one meal and then another meal with a vegetable added on the side. I also usually serve this with cornbread and shredded cheese on the side.
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 50 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- garlic, salt, and pepper to taste
- 1-2 lbs elbow macaroni
- 2 cans whole tomatoes with juice, diced
- 2 (15 oz) cans tomato sauce
- *You can substitute a can of rotel for one of the cans of tomatoes if you'd like to add some spice to it.
Directions
-
Brown hamburger meat with onions while boiling noodles in another pot.
-
Drain meat when done and season with garlic, salt, and pepper.
-
Drain noodles when through cooking and add meat, tomatoes, and tomato sauce to the noodles.
-
Simmer noodle and meat mixture for 20 minutes or until everything is heated through.
