Scalloped Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 6 medium peeled & sliced potatoes
  • 6 Tablespoons butter
  • 1 large onion, diced (about 1 1/2 cups)
  • 6 Tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 5 cups milk

Directions

  1. at oven to 350. Grease 2 quart casserole with butter.

  2. Saute diced onion in butter, until tender. Stir in flour, salt & pepper. Cook until flour is slightly golden. Stir in milk and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil for 1 minute, then remove from heat. Sauce will thicken more in the oven.

  3. Spread sliced potatoes in the casserole dish, then pour sauce over all and stir to get all the potatoes covered.

  4. Cover with tinfoil or lid to casserole dish and bake for 30 minutes. Then remove cover and bake an additional 1 hour to 1 hour 10 minutes until potatoes are tender.
