Turkey & Veggies in Cheesy Pastry

Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 c flour divided (1c, 1/3 c)
  • 1/4 tsp. salt divided (1/8 &1/8 tsp.)
  • 6 tbsp. butter divided (4/2tbsp.)
  • 1/4 c shredded Cheddar
  • 2 tbsp. water
  • 14 oz. can chicken broth
  • 1 c half and half
  • 1 tbsp. chicken bouillon granules
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 3 c chopped turkey
  • 16 oz. pkg. frozen peas & carrots

Directions

  1. eheat oven to 350.

  2. Combine 1 c flour & 1/8 tsp. salt.

  3. Cut in 4 tbsp. butter to get coarse crumbs

  4. Stir in cheese. Add water, 1 tbsp. at a time.

  5. Stir until ball forms. Wrap in plastic.

  6. Refrigerate 30 minutes

  7. Melt 2 tbsp. butter. Add 1/3 c flour.

  8. Stir until bubbly. Gradually add broth.

  9. Stir in half and half.

  10. Cook 5 min., until thick, stir constantly.

  11. Add bouillon, salt, pepper.

  12. Cook & stir 1 min. until dissolved.

  13. Place turkey/veggies in 2 qt. dish.

  14. Cover w/ prepared sauce.

  15. Roll out dough into 11" circle. Put over dish.

  16. Cut slits in top.

  17. Bake 1 hr, until browned.
