Date and Pecan Loaf

Toasted pecans add to the flavour of this nice loaf.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 C dates
- 3/4 C brown sugar
- 60 g butter
- 1 1/4 C boiling water
- 1 t baking soda
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 t vanilla essence
- 2 C self raising flour
- 1 C pecans, toasted
Directions

Mix together first 4 ingredients until combined.

Add remaining ingredients, mixing briefly.

Bake in paper lined loaf tin at 180oC, approx 50 minutes.
