Citrus Poppy Seed Loaves

Cook in mini loaf tins for cafe style look

Cook time: 25 minutes
Serves 8 people

Ingredients

  • 125 g butter
  • 2 t grated lemon zest
  • 2 t grated orange zest
  • 3/4 C castor sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 C self raising flour
  • 1/4 C ground almonds
  • 1 T poppy seeds
  • 1/2 C orange juice

Directions

  1. Beat butter, zests and sugar until fluffy.

  2. Add eggs, singly.

  3. Fold in flour, ground almonds, poppy seeds and juice.

  4. Bake at 180oC approx 25 minutes.

  5. Cool.

  6. Ice:

  7. Mix together 3/4 C icing sugar and 1 T orange juice.

  8. Glaze tops of loaves.
