Holiday Wassail

Ingredients

  • 6 cinnamon sticks, 1 inch each
  • 12 whole cloves
  • 6 cups water
  • 1 can (12 oz) frozen cranberry juice concentrate
  • 1 can (12 oz) frozen raspberry juice concentrate
  • 1 can (12 oz) frozen apple juice concentrate
  • 1 cup brandy, rum or orange juice
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • Orange slices
  • 100-percent-cotton cheesecloth
  • String

Directions

  1. For spice bag, cut a double thickness of 100-percent-cotton cheesecloth into a 6-inch square. Place cinnamon and cloves in center of cloth. Bring corners together and tie with a clean string.

  2. In slow cooker, combine spice bag, water, juice concentrates, brandy, lemon juice, and sugar.

  3. Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 4-6 hours or on high-heat setting for 2-3 hours. Remove spice bag.

  4. Float orange slice on each serving.
