Basil Oil

Ingredients

  • removed
  • 1 cup extra-virgin olive oil

Directions

  1. Add the basil to boiling water for 45 seconds to 1 minute.

  2. Remove to a bowl of ice water to stop it from further cooking.

  3. Dry and add to a blender.

  4. Add the olive oil and blend until smooth.

  5. Strain through cheesecloth into a bowl.

  6. Add salt and pepper to taste.

  7. Add the lemon juice right before serving.
