Candied Pecans

Ingredients

  • 3 cups pecan halves
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup margarine

Directions

  1. Beat egg whites until foamy. Gradually add sugar, a little at a time. Add salt; fold into mixture.
  2. melt margarine in a 9×13 inch pan. Do not brown. Mix egg white mixture and pecans together then put into the pan with the melted margarine and cook for 45 minutes in a 325 degree oven, stirring every 15 minutes.
  3. it is very important to stir at 15 minutes to prevent sticking.
