School Fudge
(from Lucianolinda’s recipe box)
adapted from the recipe used by my mother in the high school cafeteria 40 years ago. Much loved by all who remember it.

Ingredients
- 4 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 1/2 cups butter (2 1/4 sticks)
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 4 cups quick oats
Directions
- Boil sugar, milk, butter and cocoa 6 minutes ( soft ball stage), stirring constantly. Remove form heat, add vanilla extract and peanut butter, and mix well.
- Stir in oats and mix thoroughly. Pour into a buttered 10 × 15 × 1 baking sheet and let cool. Cut into 1 x2 inch pieces.
