Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 1cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 3 1/2 cup flour
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- Icing:
- 2 cups sifted powdered sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 6 tsp. water
Directions
- Sift dry ingredients together. Cream butter and sugar in a large bowl. Beat in eggs, add vanilla and dry ingredients. Knead and add flour as needed to keep dough from sticking to hands.
- Pinch off dough, roll in hands to form a log about 3 inches log and 1/4 inch thick, then twist into spire shape. Place on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes.
- Combine the powdered sugar, vanilla and water and stir until creamy. Dip cookies into icing and sprinkle with trim. Place on wire rack set over waxed paper to collect drippings.
