Nutella Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. light corn syrup
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. almond extract
  • 1 lg. egg
  • 2/3 cup nutella
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda

Directions

  1. In a bowl of standard mixer, cream butter, sugar and cream cheese until light and fluffy using whisk attachment. Mix in corn syrup, vanilla, almond extract, egg and nutella; scraping sides and bottom of bowl.
  2. Switch to paddle or dough hook. Mix in flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda until well blended. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 1 hour. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly grease 2 baking sheets or use parchment.
  3. On lightly floured surface, roll dough out to 1/4 inch thick. Use cookie cutters to make desired shapes. Reroll dough as needed. Place cut-outs on cookie sheets. Bake in preheated oven 10 minutes. Cool 2 to 3 minutes in pan- remove carefully to wire racks. Cool completely.
